My Experience with Autogenic Training

Years ago I suffered from severe allergies. I had extreme hay fever and allergies to dogs, and could not leave the house without an inhaler. I also had a fear of flying. I tried all known orthodox and natural healing treatments for both problems, with little success.

I had come across Autogenic Training many times through different sources: personal recommendations, flyers and TV programs.  Because Autogenic Training kept appearing in my life, I decided to give it a try in 2007. The effects were extraordinary!

I did not recognize results right away. I learned that chronic problems, such as allergies that have built up over time, take time to heal. Even though I was already familiar with the holistic healing approach, it was still a challenge to be patient with my body and mind and to invest time in learning this sustainable method. It was well worth the effort!


The turning point in my Autogenic Training practice came when I learned my personal affirmations, after I had mastered the 7 basic exercises. With these personal affirmations I was finally able to get to the root of my problems. By changing my attitude, I was able to reduce my chronic problems to a minimum and keep them in check!

Here are the results: our family has a dog, I can enjoy spring and summer without an inhaler, and I rarely need an antihistamine pill.

And the best thing: I overcame my fear of flying. If I hadn’t, I would not have been able to come to Maine from Germany and offer this great healing art . . . .
