Why Autogenic Training is Unique

Once learned from an experienced trainer and regularly practiced, this relaxation method should allow you to achieve deep relaxation in just 10 minutes. Autogenic Training can be practiced anywhere anytime: while travelling in a train or plane, during the wait time for an appointment, on the sofa at home, etc.

 

The relaxation is generated by you. It is not dependent on external triggers or environments (there is no need for special rooms, equipment or clothing).

 

In general, Autogenic Training can be practiced by people of almost any age and physical condition. However, Autogenic Training is NOT recommended if you are suffering from one of the following conditions:

  • acute heart problems, such heart attack
  • schizophrenia or severe depression associated with hallucinations
  • active alcohol or drug abuse
  • epilepsy

Regular practice of Autogenic Training enables you to withstand higher stress situations and levels.

 

When you have mastered the 7 basic exercises you can learn and use personal affirmations to work on individual problems or conditions you want to change, or to work on individual goals you want to reach, such as:

  • quitting smoking
  • overcoming specific phobias
  • strengthening your self-confidence
  • dealing better with menstrual problems
  • reducing or overcoming allergies
  • overcoming a barrier to learning
  • reducing or overcoming stage fright

These are only a few examples, but with Autogenic Training you can find the right affirmation for almost every problem or goal!
